I immensely love my teaching job and especially the children; it is my vocation along with being a mom. Being at Saint Bernadette’s Catholic school is a privilege and gift from God. I graduated from the Instituto y Acedemia Practica Comercial Secretary School in Guatemala City, Guatemala; the International Correspondence School with a diploma in Child Day Care; the Pre-School and Kindergarten In-Service Training of the Pensacola Christian College; and completed the Northern Virginia Community College’s English as a Second Language program.
I have worked with children for 29 years, and have been with Kindergarten students for 15 years. Previous to coming to Saint Bernadette’s, I taught at a non-Catholic Christian school; this experience made me even more appreciative of my Catholic faith with all the fullness it offers. To be teaching in a Catholic environment is a tremendous blessing that I am thankful for every day.
I was born and raised on my family’s farm in Guatemala. I come from a family of eleven children. I am a very proud US citizen who moved to northern Virginia almost 30 years ago. I am married to my husband Bob, and we have two girls and will soon be grandparents to twins. We are members of the Saint Bernadette parish and live in Springfield, Virginia.
